Later ,they said that it was for her recovery but nowhere in the Bulgarian’s Law is written that the compensation must cover all medical expenses .In my opinion ,if Manuela needs money for her recovery in foreign country her father should’ve speak directly with Maxim and not ask for those money in the court.

A: No normal human being would want that. I don’t ,no one does. I couldn’t say that I am afraid because I try not to think about it.

Q : If we try to play another version and you were one of victims relatives, what sentence you would’ve chose for yourself?

A: I probably would’ve kill this person. I cannot imagine the feeling of a mother who lost her son.

Q: Did you try to contact Petar’s relatives?

A: No. I couldn’t…And I don’t have the strength, I just don’t know what to say. To tell them “Sorry” and then what? They probably couldn’t even accept it or tell me “ OK,you are forgiven“. To go to the funeral ,
Would’ve been a n excruciation for them. Or to send flowers .If I were Petar’s parents I wouldn’t want to see the man who caused me such a misery.

Albena Denkova : I was mad at him if I have to honest but it was only for a short time. I was mad at his self-confidence . Because he is self-confident in everything he does . He maybe lost his childish innocence and radiance. I can see that he feels an enormous guilt towards victims family,me,mine family .I want to tell him not to torture himself like this , because that’s the life. After all , things like this could happened but he must try to overcome the problem. I ,myself ,can’t blame him for anything. Because for me he is not a criminal. He just felt into a situation that could happened to many people. The first month we basically spent in one room ,we couldn’t even go on the balcony .I don’t think that Maxim hates Bulgaria , he just felt offended .He felt betrayed because when he won for Bulgaria ,everyone considered him Bulgarian, and after the accident people were calling him “ miserable Russian“. I feel ashamed that we have many ugly sides in our national mentality.
We don’t have future at the moment. We live in the present. We don’t even make plans for the next day. We prefer for things to happen , just to happen because the waiting is the hardest things of all.

Q : Max, do you feel guilt towards Albena and her family ?

A: How can I not feel guilt before them. You can’t even imagine what they’ve been through because of me.
After the accident she was completely lost. Her mom can’t sleep even now, she always thinks about what happened.

Q : Who supports whom?

A : I didn’t know what to do, what to speak and she was trying to give me strength and support. After 10 days I realized the psychological shook for her family and tried to be strong at least in front of them. Because It would’ve crushed them completely.

Q: Did you feel Albena’s anger towards you?

A: She didn’t want to talk to me. I was afraid to look her in the eyes. I thought she would kill me.

Q : And how she acted?

A: She hugged me .

Q : Albena said that she felt offended and you felt betrayed.

A: I was surprised . I wasn’t expecting any excuses or good words but such a extreme words as “ our Bulgarians and the Russian pig” I am not a criminal, I mean not a bandit or person with criminal past. I am an ordinary man who made one wrong step in his life and it was fatal.

Q:Did any of those, who congratulated you when you became a Champion /politics, the president, majors / give you a call?

A: Some of them called ,others no. I cannot blame those who didn’t call and I don’t want to comment this.

Maxim’s parents :It was very hard for our family when he went to live and train in Bulgaria but we understand that he needed a chance to realize himself. We didn’t have cellular phones at the time , internet and the connection with him was very difficult. For several years the only time we could see him was on the TV.I remember very well the hour and the day of the accident. We were at our cottage ,it was dark and I pick up the phone. I heard Maxim’s upset voice. Who said “Don’t worry,I was in accident and there are victims. Of course we couldn’t sleep that night , we were calling constantly but we couldn’t get in touch with them. It was impossible to imagine the size of the tragedy. In case like this is very difficult if not impossible to give him comfort . I want to give my true condolences to the victim’s families .This is a tragedy that happened to our children. This Is a loss that is irreversible. We told him to find a courage because he has to overcome this , to understand and to try to live with it. I began immediately to fill out forms to apply for Bulgarian visa, And then suddenly Max was the one who was absolutely against this.

Q: Maxim, why you didn’t want your family to come?

A: The first few days when I saw what was written on the internet and in the media I got scared for them. I tried to protect my father because they would’ve jump on him with microphones ,cameras and provocative questions.

Q: Do you feel guilt towards your family?

A: It took probably 10 years out of their life. My mom was admitted in the hospital. Good thing she is well now. This is the reason for me to go to Russia, not to participate in some shows.

Maxim : I am not afraid for myself. But I regret that because of me many good people are suffering. I do realize that I was foolish. I've understood just resently that if you screw up with your life you do the same to all those people close to you. You dragging with you at least 10 others and this is the worst part.
