| This just does not make sense to me. How can Maxim provide the funds awarded for Manuela and for Petar's parents if he sits in jail and can't work? Nothing will change, except he won't be able to work and pay the funds.
One of the things I've admired most about Maxim is how he has pulled himself up by his own bootstraps to achieve a height of greatness that very few ever reach, especially given similar circumstances. He dedicated his life to his calling.
There is a core of common decency in most people that says that we don't keep kicking a person when he's so far down. I think people throughout the world can see that this has gone far beyond punishment and is now in the realm of kicking a good person when he's already suffering beyond measure. There is absolutely no good at all that will come of this. It is all just so sad.

Now the trial goes on!! And he cannot present his witness, but the prosecutor can prolong the trial's time!!! Ohh very just justice!!! In Italy, if someone chooses the "RITO ABBREVIATO" ( like the Bulgarian short trial) then ALL IS FINISHED!!!! STOP!! Yes, I am very angry!!!

Now not only the prosecutor appealed (He did it today!), but the parents of Manuela have made up their decision to appeal, too!!! And, as the prosecutor, they want to appeal Max´s probation!!! Now I only miss the parents of Peter Petrov saying they want to appeal his probation, then the trio would be complete ... For me it is not a world champion, continued her. Where has gotten drunk was thinking only of himself, of how over the other. I will repeat it - Staviski received another gift from the state, said the mother on probation Max.
It was clear that whatever verdict to receive Staviski, it will be sufficient and will not be retribution for her slain child. I saw at least one day in jail, one day, she said.
Is out of jail, but not grave, said one more time mother. According to her, really similar accidents happen every day, but Maxim Staviski was a person of the campaign, including counsel not to drive drunk, and he by their actions showed precisely the opposite.
I had to think first of this campaign, that his face was all over Bulgaria, namely advised not to drink drive to think about the safety of other road ...
I guess that will out with such conviction, but internally believe in yourself that you might receive a greater punishment, adding Dzhenka.
She said also that has promised to give a fiancee of Peter wedding dress that has been promised when they marry, although no son J.
Fiancee died of Peter said that at times she wanted to die and she.
Sorrow, which I feel is terrible, and I do not see Staviski very sorry to the contrary.
Do not believe it and repent, though I think he made a pretty good PR with everything going on, she said. I want to see how you feel if it was our place, I want to ask Albena so I would defend him if someone had done to her what Maxim did to us, the girl added.
This is a mockery of human life, commented Peter grandmother of a conditional sentence of Staviski.

I want a week Staviski to sojourn as I live. To matter when I wake to sleep when I sleep, to eat when I eat. Let me tell you how he feels then, so I live six months, said Krasimir.
He added that the spread examined by journalists, Burgas District Court is not out with a similar conditional sentence, for such crimes.
I just want to see her well. I miss it, miss her voice, her smile, want everything for its part said the mother of the girl.
While in this state, she is still beautiful, as always was and I believe will soon see abiturientka really believe it, she said."

| I think most people can read what the mother would like to do to Maxim, and it wouldn't be legal. It wouldn't matter if Maxim were in jail for one day or one thousand days. That's just the way she handles her grief. I might do the same. But from a marketing/public relations standpoint, I don't think it serves the greater good of the Bulgarian people for this type of thinking to continue. This has already gone too far, as one can see from the following articles posted in the Sophia Weekly. Rest assured, when Maxim goes into a jail, the world's journalists will turn the spotlight on how Bulgaria treats its prisoners, and this will cost Bulgaria some points in the European Union as well as the world at large. Maxim is not Nicole Richey, Paris Hilton, or Britanny Spears. He has slaved many hours for the exemplary attention he and Albena brought to Bulgaria, and I think his past deeds count. Someone with authority should take over this situation and end it for the good of Bulgaria.
Strasbourg Convicts Bulgaria over Rats, Fleas in Jails
The European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg has ruled against the Bulgarian state over the poor conditions in two detention facilities in a suspected robbery case.
The applicant, Stefan Lazarov Kostadinov, a 32-year-old Bulgarian national, was awarded EUR 5,000 for non-pecuniary damage and EUR 2,000 for costs and expenses.
Kostadinov was remanded in custody in January 1999 on charges of robbery during which he had stolen almost 9,000 EUR by force, leaving the victim unconscious.
The applicant complained about the poor conditions in both Pazardzhik regional investigation service detention facility and at Pazardzhik prison.
Kostadinov complained of insufficient oxygen in the cells, inadequate hygiene, the presence of parasites (fleas and wood worms), skin infections (scabies) and rodents (mice and rats), insufficient natural light, no special recreational area, unhealthy food, no access to literature, newspapers, magazines, radio or television; no possibility for him to meet with his lawyer in private at his initiative; and, restricted correspondence rights.
"The court considered that the applicant had been confined to his cell, situated in the basement, for 24 hours a day for a period of more than five months without exposure to natural light and without having been able to undertake any physical activity or other pastime must have caused him considerable suffering," reads the sentence.
The judges concluded that the distress and hardship Kostadinov had endured had exceeded the unavoidable level of suffering inherent in detention and that the resulting anguish had gone beyond the threshold of severity. see photo | print | send | post your opinion | view all opinions | top
Prosecutor Wants Bulgaria's Staviiski in Jail
Prosecution in the case against ice skating champion Maxim Staviiski, charged with involuntary manslaughter and aggravated bodily harm, announced an appeal against the suspended sentence given to the defender will be filed within the legal term.
Prosecutor Anguel Georgiev, who wants Staviiski imprisoned for 2.5 years, also insisted that the court explains its motives for not putting the top skater behind bars.
Last week, the skating champ was given a 2,5-year suspended sentence and five years to be served in probation over drunk driving and causing a heavy crash, which killed one and injured three in August.
The civil claim, filed on behalf of the girl left comatose after the fatal hit, set at BGN 2 M, was rejected and the court decided Manuela Gorsova would get BGN 80,000 compensation.
The compensation demanded by the parents of the man, who died in the crash, was also cut and Staviiski would have to pay BGN 180,000, instead of BGN 500,000.
Staviiski was deprived of a driving license for four years.
