| Oh I don't know, it is very far next summer ! But I think I will visit Moscow of course , and maybe St Petersburg... Je verrai... But before, I have to learn a little bit Russian, or reading the cyrillik alphabet at least ! Because 5 words (now 6 ) is not enough. | |

| I know not much more Russian than you Marina, but I would LOVE to learn it. I sorta know the cyrillic alphabet. I forget some, I used to know it all. I know about half still and I have a little chart I made up for myself that I can refer back to for the other half. Of course it doesn't help much when you translate the word and it's still a Russian word that you don't know what it means... but it works for names lol! | |

| Wow...this discussion about languages is very long. I can't really know what to answer first. I think I'll start with the accent issue. Dear Marina, I've met some french people and they were speaking every language they knew with an incredible strong french accent. You can tell almost in a second if someone is french or not. But i have to say to you that the french accent and the way it influences other languages it's sooo cute, adorable. I just like to listen french people talking in english. (I don't know french at all neverstudied at school and it's very difficul also) and when they try to speak romanian it's even more adorable....hehehe. Like Teresa said, I kow some words and heart the around me but when I try to repeat my tongue is stucked. I have a friend who know french very, very well and she always laughs (in a nice way) and teases me about my attempts to say some words. I'd like to know the language ..but, eh.. As for languages I speak, it's only romanian, english with lots of mistakes and grammatical stuff, and hungarian. I used to speak this fluently when I was little but I forgot a lot. So now, I can understand pretty well, write (with some mistakes) and read very slow. Talking is a bit difficul since words aren't coming, although I recognise them if someone mentions them. It's probably lack of practice and vocabulary, since I don't read in hungarian . I feel bad that I forgot so much but I'm trying to recover now. German, dear ELv..uhh...I considered this language ugly too. I don't know exactly why. I studied it a few years but I was incapable of learning it. Hmm...tough language. Ich spreche nicht deutsch und weil Ich spercehe is sehr sclecht. I understand italian and spanish, because they are very similar (manny similar words) with romanian. So it's very easy to understand them - if they talk slow or if they write it down . But I'm not very capable of answering. I can't link more the few words I know and I'm not capable of saying an entire correct sentence. SO, I talk in romanian and he/she answers in italian. And we enderstand eachother. Perfect comunication, eh?! And...last but not least, I'm trying to learn russian. I know a few phrases and words and I understand random words from what somebody says or writes. (Completely useless since I can't figure out the rest of it ). I'm very determined to learn the language but it's working verrrrry hard . I will try more, I won't give up. Not yet. NIET, NIET! I can understan the letters and sometimes when I'm bored with what the teacher says, I'm writting the lesson in russian. I use russian letters for romanian words, just to practice my fuent writting. My friends say I'm crazy cause they can't understand a thing so they can't read my notes if they would need those. Than you dear Elv for offering to help. and Thanks Lerka for all your help :<33: That's almost everything about the languages around me....I know maybe very, very random words from other langiages too, that's because you can't ignore what's aroun you. And almost everybody knows and uses a foreign language. It's not bad. I found something, very, very helpful for me... http://www.rustran.com/promt.php4?status=translate&direction=er&source=I+hope+you+are+very+well But I don't know how to use cyrillic letters, so I can't use it from russian to english. It's pretty accurate as far as I saw. Enjoy! Hugs, Alex Я надеюсь, что Вы - очень хорошо (I hope you are very well) with the help of the dictionary :<33: | |

I worked on the cruise-ship in summer 2005, and we visited the countries along the Danube-river It was veeery interesting and exciting! As for Romania, I visited Bucharest (I was abroad for the first time of my life! and the first city I visited was Bucharest)), Giurgiu (hope I wrote it correctly ), Turnu Severin (which was very nice) and also one town in the mountains, I don't know how it was called in Romanian, sorry, we had our excursions in German and it was called Herculesbad in German! This town was fab!! Wow, I wanted to answer to you quite a while ago. So here it is... Hmm..Bucharest (Bucuresti) is our capital. It used to be called little Paris a few decades ago. But right now it's not like that at all. I think there are a few places that you could visit, but unfortunatelly it still needs a lot of improvements (roads, buildings, houses, cleaning to do). I don't particularly like it I know it is the capital but still. About Giurgiu You wrote it correct. No need to worry. Nu am fost niciodata in Giurgiu (I''ve never been in Giurgiu) so I can't say much about it. Turnu severin is nice indeed..a cute place with small beautiful locations. Here is a photo with its tower. You couldn't miss the tower . As for Herculesbad, it is Baile Herculane in romanian. It is a well known health-resort and many people go there to cure different affections or just to relax. I was there twice, but I was little. I can't remember very much. There was a strange, beautiful cell in convent. But I can't find pictures and I'm not sure that my memory is exact. Maybe it was in some other place . This is a famous statue of Hercules and you probably see it. Another picture from Herculane - lEnka wrote:
So I liked Romania very much By the way I live on the boundary of Ukraine and Romania It's only the Danube-river which separates the two countries I'm very happy that you liked it. Maybe we shoud meet, wave at least one to another You on your side of the Danube me on the other. Guard wouldn't let us come near... Haha, this would be crazy and funny. interesting in the end. Off-topic again ...Sorry

| For a long time I wanted to share something interesting! I was thinking that we call each other dear, quedida, queridinha and so on on our native languages. And dear in bulgarian is "mila" (Meg's nickname ) Soooo cute! so, if I wanna say "dear Mila" in bulgarian it will be "mila Mila" because of her nickname I thought in the beginning that Meg is Bulgarian (sorry,Meg ) but Mila is also a nice bulgarian name. | I wanted to write here something for a verrrrrrrrry long time!!! I wanted to thank our draga Alex for all the photos! I loved the tower very mush.. It must be soo ancient! And.. about mila, draga, drogaya, querida, queridinha! It's a wonderful idea to speak about how we can call eachtoher in different languages!! Vaniiichhkkaa!!! *flowers and hugs * I'd like to ask you something.. I don't know how to explain it correctly, I hope Vania will help me There are some words in every language, which mean a very sweet appeal to someone, but it's not only "dear" or so, not only adjectives.. For example, here in Russia we call some close friends we love: zayka, solnyshko.. I know that bulgarians have words like milichka, sladuranka.. in french we can say "ma tite" Vaniaaa!!! I hope you will help me to explain this better, darling!!! :<33: :<33: :<33: kisses | |

Here we call each other (I'll write in cyrillic, sorry, but no other way) мила, скъпа, сладурче както ти спомена също миличка и сладуранка, бейби , макар че това е вече малко, как да кажа, по-интимно или лично, но ако е между много близки приятели, става. Азлично предпочитам миличка, някак си най-мило ми звучи. Ако се сетя за друго, ще ти кажа. Ask me whatever you want, I'll help you, dear (zayka )

It is called "Solnyshko" and I had no idea what it mens. I wanted many times to ask you, but always forgot. I'm trying to send you the song. Now that I know what it means, it's even more enjoyable to listen. (You can not listen to it in winamp only with programs that can read .rmm extensions. I don't know how to convert the song.) I hope you'll be able to hear it. http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.php?action=download&ufid=CD6BAD3A3C3A3EE7 In romanian, we sometimes say "scumpa mea" that means "my precious" or "my sweet". "Dragutza mea" means "my pretty". Actually we don't use forms of apelatives very much. I'm not sure why. I'm trying to remember more... Ehh..my mom calls me sometimes "eletem" or "eletkem" but it's in hungarian and it means "my life" or "my little life" (Lindi..help?! maybe she can say more on this)

| Alexandra, thank you for your reply and telling me more about Romania! It's very interesting for me. I've forgotten to mention that I have also been to Tulcea I've visited the museum of Danube delta, it was so interesting. About the tower of Ternu severin, you're right, I've seen and I remember it so clearly. Thanks for nice fotos, they make me feel kinda nostalgie about my last sommer, it was great. All places are nice and beautiful in their own way, but still I was empressed most by Baile Herculane (thanks for telling me the name!). It was so unusual to be there, such beautiful scenes... I've tried to post some fotos which I made there, but I've some problems with my PC and it won't do it.... :-( But if you want to, you can see my fotoalbum with these pictures here - http://community.webshots.com/user/coconutty20 Romanian fotos are at the end of the second album (called "my summer hollidays 2005"). You can also find Bulgaria there It's so interesting and exciting to visit foreign countries.. *Olena waves to Alexandra from her bank of Danube:-))* | |
