I saw it in English with Bulgarian subtitles - in Bulgaria all the movies in the cinemas are with subtitles (except the movies for children). Sometimes it' better because you can hear the original, the real voices of the actors.

OK. I prefer the original version too. In France, we have the choice, French or original version, but only in the big cities. In the country, all movies are in French.

But for the Da Vinci Code, as Audrey Tautou is French, we understand well what she said because she has a rather strong accent. And we can hear Jean Reno's awesome voice !!! heart2

Dear Girls!

I have just watched the movie and I can say that I enjoyed it very much!

The room was full and there were even priests in the audience!
scratch scratch Razz Razz, although officially the church advised ti "ignore" the film! lol! lol!
I think that I am " A cafteria Catholic" because Sometimes I make my own rules although I am Catholic! Razz
I think that most catholic people in most Catholic countries are already renewing our faith sunny sunny !!!!! sunny sunny and that will bring fruit sooner or later! sunny sunny

OF COURSE WE DO NOT BELONG TO THE POWERFUL AND MIGHTY! scratch scratch , but Jesus Christ prefered the commom people and even the poor and helpless! heart2 heart2 SOOO.....
I just want to say a word about THE OPUS DEI! scratch scratch scratch
Personally I would not join it... shocked , but I think DAN BROWN overrreacted over it.....baaa baaa baaa

well,.. WE HAVE MINISTERS IN OUR GOVERNMENT THAT BELONG TO THE OPUS Dei...one of our Presidents belonged to the Opus DEI...most of the owners of our banks belong to the OPUS DEI...even some of our national football teams players belong to the OPUS DEI! :kataus: :kataus: :kataus:
I cannot see these people, at least in my country, as being a bunch of conspirators and rascals!!! :kataus: :kataus: :kataus:
We may disagree with them but we respect them! :mdr: :mdr:

BUT...I LOVED THE FILM  I think this one does not let the book down :cheer: :cheer:

Thanks Bea,
Your remarks were very interesting. I had no idea that so many people, you might "know", are belonging to Opus Dei. I'm sure Dan Brown overreacted, but still it doesn't feel ok for me...

Haha...so you say there were priest in the room This is great!! Really, I mean this. I absolutely admire priests who are open-minded, capable of seeing things like you do, still remaining a ferm beliver. I think there are few like this. saaad

Well..acording to you, I'm definetly "a cafteria Catholic". But what does this mean exactly?!

Thanks for your comments, I find them very interesting Wink
Thanks. zvet I'm glad you enjoyed the movie. :<33:

I think a "cafeteria Catholic" is someone who decides according to their own moral voice which of the church's policies or platforms to support or oppose, rather than supporting everything the church recommends.

(Like in a cafeteria, where you can choose what you want to eat!)cheers cheers

I've not heard this term before but I like it... :study: :study: ⭐

I haven't heard it either (obviously Embarassed ) but it's a good term. There are many people like this, you know?! At list around me. Of course, nowadayds, you can't really accept everything the Church says..

Oh no...It's ok.
It was meant for anybody...I asked Bea first, because she mentioned this term and I was sure that she knows how to explain it. But you're very nice to search for the term and answer me Wink It's pretty much clear now.

I used the term Cafteria Catholic because one of the bishops , who in the movie belongs to Opus Dei uses it! lol!
I saw the movie in english and with the subtitles in portuguese! And that expression caught my attention! lol!
