hehe, I remember in one episode of Friends, Phoebe and Rachel attended litterature classes and they had to render Jane Eyre, which Rachel haven't read. Then Phoebe told her (absolutely intentionally) that this book was ahead of his time (so far so good ) because it was about the robot and Jane actually was a cyborg.

I do agree with Phoeby Jane was a cyborg!!! She managed somehow to make everybody suffer then she comes and saves

I like lots of books, but the last book I read that really made an impression on me, was WHEN NIETZSCHE CRIED!

I am under the impression that they are going to make a movie...


Among the classics I love ANA KARENINA

PRIDE AND PREJUDICE!

Albena and Maxim - The Love is The Alchemy Of Success, all russian classic and the West Europe literature and the books for politician, mysteries and history are my favourite books.

As for me I like to read portuguese classics, of course!!
I like some world classics too! Anne Karenina is one of my favourites.

The book I read this Easter holidays was O TEMPO DOS AMORES PERFEITOS!


in english The time of perfect love...
It tells about Angola in the 19th century..the portuguese troops and an impossible love affair between the governor's daughter and a portuguese captain..
He disappears in the jungle and Leonor goes to look for him along with some slaves against her father's will and they get lost and she dies... :


It was a very enjoyable read...

I recommend it.. when you have time!

I have read Tempo dos Amores Perfeitos! , but I am so sorry for Leonor , she died of starvation and exaustion in the middle of the jungle and her lover never knew.. The writer said it is based in a real story..
Tragic!!! : And he was not dead. He survived..Why do girls always have to suffer so for Love???

This is a very interesting novel about Colombo being a portuguese secret agent and that he was born on the village Cuba in Alentejo in Portugal, so he named Cuba after his birthplace.. verrry interesting, don't you think???

Sounds very interesting ...just the kind of novels I like , the ones that have as main characters very brave and romantic women!

I think the real title is

Love letters from a portuguese nun

and I think that this version is only available in english, because there is still no translation in portuguese...the author is a writer called Miriam cyr.

Of course there are portuguese versions of thie love affair...

I 've finished reading Ines da minha alma de Isabel Allende!! It's a very strong and impressive novel, because the author is very realistic and writes with lots of details!
OMG!! Life was really very difficult in those times!! A woman had to be very strong and brave to face all those dangers!!!

Ahm..I found them on the internet. But I think I'll never read them like this . It's horrible to read on the PC. And I can't print them

I haven't asked yet Since this is the first time I hear about them, I have no idea if there are in the library or not
I guess there are...but I have a huge 'to-read' list so I'm not sure when I'll have time for 5 more. Not in the near future, I suppose.
