I'm glad you like the songs. When I have time, I'll search for more his songs. I like his interpretation of our national songs - he and his band (they are wonderful musicians, by the way) make very good arrangements of the bg folk songs, making them sound very ... modern, I can't find the right word

I'll keep search for it As for me, I don't like him at all (and a curious fact - for about 2-3 years, Desislava studied in my school, I know her since then, not that she would recognize me if I meet her, it was more than 15 years ago)

No, she isn't. I don't know exactly where she was born, but her stepfather was from Hisar (I was talking about my school in Hisar). Later he died and she and her mom moved somewhere else, where she continued her studies.

Vania, thank you so much for sharing Slavi's songs with us ! I love his amazing voice since I heard for the first time "Edintveni" (I always listen to this song you know ! It's my favorite Bulgarian song !).

About the late Slavi's songs you posted, my favorite are : Nevesto Mori Ubava , Imala Majka, Nazad mome kalino (I especially love the beginning of Nazad mome kalino because I play the clarinet, and I juste love the sound of this instrument !).

Yes...he is... I had a completely different picture of him in my head...almost like an Andrea Bocelli type picture... Well, I think I need work on my envisioning... 'Cuz my original picture of you is completely different as well!

As for me, I don't really need a translation, but if you have lyrics in latine letters, it would be great ! Because I can read cyrillic letters in the lyrics you gave us, but I read them very slowly :study: and I can't sing with Slavi (yes, I love singing my favorite songs at home ! Not in the underground of course, people could think I'm crazy if I sing in Bulgarian ! ).

Well, now I'm a bit busy and I want to read the other topics but later, I'll tell you with few words what is the subject (the content ???) of the songs, I think it's not necessary to translate the entire song, only the meaning.

I don’t translate the song word by word, it would be senseless. Not that now it has any sense, but…
The song Imala mayka tells about a hero – Nikola, obviously a handsome guy – his eyes are like stars, the face – like a rose, though I can’t imagine a boy which face is like a rose , but it’s folklore …. Nikola fights against the enemies, his home is the mountain. He leads his band (battalion ???) with a red flag in his hands. Does it sounds silly? It isn't actually, but I'm not a poet and I can't do it better
