It´s active since yesterday evening, approximately 20:00 o´clock German time / 21 o´clock Bulgarian time (and I think Estonian too) / 22 o´clock Russian time.

I do not know really how long it will be online (nobody knows at the moment), but I presume it will close some days before next trial at Supreme Court! And this can be weeks ago! Very Happy

Girls, we are also doing as much as possible to spread the link. It is already on many forums and blogs in Russia. Also we are spreading it on the social site "V Kontakte". One girl suggested to spread in Japanese forums, she has a friend in Japan and promised to find the forums... Then we can post the link there, because there are a lot of Albie&Max's fans there....

I gave the link to all my friends linked with the figure skating world (skaters and fans) and I asked them to do the same with their friends...Hope it will work !

It says Maxim Staviski can be useful to the society outside the jail and expresses disagreement with the decision of the Burgas Court of Appeal. It reads Staviski has to be sentenced for the crime, but should not be imprisoned.
“Maxim started alone his re-education before the public eyes and is doing his best to help the people hurt,” the petition says.
The authors of the petition signed themselves as “organized supporters of Albena and Maxim.”

Focus News Agency reminds:
On January 5th Burgas Court of Appeal decided to change the sentence passed on figure-staking champion Maxim Staviski from suspended to effective.
The three-judge panel decided to keep the term of two years and a half unchanged, but the service will be different. Under the new effective sentence passed, Maxim Staviski will be imprisoned for two years and a half under easy regime.
The court also changed the value of the civil claims. Instead of the initially set compensation of BGN 90,000 for the parents of the boy who died in the accident – Petar Petrov, Staviski will pay BGN 120,000 to each of the parents. The civil claim for Manuela Gorsova, who was in coma after the car crash, has been increased, too – from BGN 80,000 to BGN 150,000.

The petition is a wonderful thing!

There were a little over 100 signers when I signed yesterday and I was pleasantly surprised to see that there were already 900+ today.

This is very gratifying and I pray that as the numbers increase there will be a very positive reaction by those who have thus far wished Maxim ill. Crying or Very sad

To be sure, we need a miracle, but this will, I hope, change some minds! cheers

I just signed the petition (No. 999) and scrolled down the list of petitioners, noting that a majority of the signatures were from Bulgaria. I think that speaks well of Bulgaria in that those signing the petition look upon Maxim as someone they want to help overcome this tragedy.

Thank you for the link to Sophia Echo, an online publication that I receive. I am impressed that the publication is supporting this very worthy cause. I haven't seen anything that indicates Sophia Weekly or Novinite is supporting the cause. I also receive the online version of Sophia Weekly. I am just holding tight in prayer that the Bulgarian courts will "let our Maxim go." There is no good whatsoever that can come from extending this misery.
