Skate America (Oct. 26-29th, 2006)

Does anuone have the FD of Albena and Maxim.
We found this in the net and we are concerned:(
What do you think about it?
"Albena and Maxim. I admire them. Love their history in the sport. I
was excited to
see them. Hey! They were the only skaters in the final group who did
not have appliqued
leaves on their costume. But I have to say I didn't get it. Too high
concept for me.
The new program is called the Seven Deadly Sins and part of the music
is from Mozart's
Requiem. Okey dokey, I'm fine with that but what-up with "music" that
includes tolling
bells, a stenorious male voice giving occasional quotes, a baby crying
and a little
kid laughing. Meanwhile the skaters are thrashing, miming and full of
angst. Halt!
Sensory overload. I saw a neat lift or two, seems as though there
might have been a twizzle
and a knee slide, otherwise I was in the dark. There were actual
audible giggles from
the crowd. Be curious to see what Susie Wynne has to say about it,
but I'm not happy
when I need program notes and a script to enjoy a free dance"

and although I haven't seen anything, it seems just to be wonderful and perfect, you know it when you just see the costumes

But... I was always wondering what happens in the minds of the judges when they give too low marks for Albie and Max. It schould be something like this...

It has been written by a journalist (i suppose)at SA and a girl from the other forum has seen it and wrote it. It sound so so unpleasant:((
I hope some of you will watch the FD at ESPN and will comment it here....

I guess that kind of person like classical dance who talk about love stories...anyway that's just one opinion and fortunaly judges don't think that this year!

Asked about a crash in practice this morning, when Denkova/Staviski collided with Sinead Kerr/John Kerr (GBR), she answered: “I had a little scratch in my leg. Maxim unfortunately got hurt a little more, he has pain in his hip and he put a lot of ice on it.”

I'm very happy it wasn't that bad and they could skate brilliant!!!

You want to watch this FD? Than you've got to be ready for a programme that will shake you! It's beautiful, it's touching .... it's mesmerizing! O, god, It's so very beautiful!!!!!!!!!!! And it deffinitelly won't be liked of people who expect to see extended OD. It's not just some kind of simple dancing - there are some thoughts put in there.

Well, I guess I'm starting to write nonsenses, but I'm still under the spell of the performance.

I'm just back, and I'm totally exhausted, but I wanted to come in and post really quick that they were amazing all weekend. AMAZING. I was blown away. They really look relaxed, and their presentation is a billion times better than it use to be.

(I think they confused the hell out of the audience in Hartford with their FD, but everyone seemed to enjoy it anyway )
