- oohhhh..my....so many songs...I managed to download the first ones and I think that Barcelona is absolutely great. It's true that I didn't had time or nerves to listen very carrefully more than once the pieces to decide then, but at the first listening "Barcelona" impressed me. Also "Battle without honour".
Yeah, I really like "Barcelona". It's very powerful and dramatic. I like the variations in speed, too. For me, it's easy to imagine how all my elements would work well with this music. It would completely work with my turns, leaps and acrobatic elements. So, it is definitly near the top of my list, right now. hmm... a girl from my club used "Battle without honor" this year, so I cannot use it. We are too close to the same level. And her routine would still be fresh in everyone's minds. - Quote :
- I wanted to listen the Diva Dance for quite a while. I looove this one. And also the powerful voice but I think Lana you are right...one week is enough and then . hehee...
I would be driven insane by this music, after a week!!! I would start refusing to practice my routine or such. hehe. Kisses, Lana P.S. Alex, did you download "Baghdad"? If yes, what was your opinion?

- Rene Dupere used to be the composer for Cirque. I can't remember what the last Cirque he did was, though.
I had completely forgotten about that. I knew his name sounded very familiar, but I couldn't place it. When I listened to "Earth" I remembered though. - Quote :
- I actually agree about Dola re Dola being too hard to cut-- actually, someone gave it to me 2-3 years ago to consider skating to and I looooooove it, but in the end we just couldn't cut it right. I still keep it on the iPod to work out to, though.
It definitly seems like it would be impossible to cut. Too bad, because I can see how this music would make a really fab skating program. I can't even see how you would make a 1:30 mix out of it for RG, let alone skating. Earth - Rene Dupere: I know this music! hehe. Albena and Maxim used it for their Xotica FD, yes? I like it and think that it could work... but I like some of the other pieces that you've posted much better. Mazurka op. 33 No. 2 - Frederic Chopin: Chopin is one of my favourite composers, but I find this music too soft for clubs. Rattle and Burn - Jesse Cook: I like it, but I liked the two other songs by him much more. Played-A-Live (The Bongo Song): Safri Duo just uses too much drumming for my taste. It gives me a headache after a while... Just my opinion. Shi: Sort of an odd piece. It's very different, but I don't like it very much. Snakefood - Safri Duo: Same complaint as with the Bongo Song. I'm just not a fan of these guys. Tango-Flamenco - Jesse Cook: This song!!! I wanted to use last year, but then I forgot about it! Thanks for reminding me! hehe. The Augers of Spring - Igor Stravinsky: It's very sharp sounding, I found. :| I don't find it to be suited to a clubs routine, either... Tu Es Foutu - In-Grid: I love the song itself. I think it's really awesome. But the music doesn't have any variation (or enough) it was pretty much the same, the entire way through. Thank you again, Grace!!!! I've gone from having not enough selection to tons of pieces to chose from!!! :jump1: I am really glad for your suggestioned piece, it's helped sooo much!!!

It was a very traumatic music cutting experience, let me tell you. Everyone would try to convince me that some cut or another would work, and I'm like you and very picky about music, and I'd be like, no, it doesn't work. My main objection was that even though we could have lyrics, cutting the lyrics together was insanely hard. Partner: "But Grace, it doesn't matter, none of the judges speak Hindi!" Me: "It still doesn't sound right!" Partner: "You don't speak Hindi, how do you know??" Me: "Ummm...." It still just didn't work, though. - Quote :

Mostly Chopin makes me think of how insanely hard his stuff is to play. Also, for some reason this piece makes me think of Charlie Brown. But I couldn't talk myself out of posting it. Anyway, like I said in the first post, I never expected you to like all of it, and I certainly didn't expect a full out review of all of them. Well, I'm glad I could help even just a little. (Can you tell I miss picking music? ) I was really worried I was posting too much stuff, but then I remembered that people used to hand me the most off-beat things to listen to (like once this anime soundtrack) and I always liked listening to all of it even if just to get new stuff to put on CDs. So I hope I wasn't too much of a pain. :queen:

It still just didn't work, though. It does sound very traumatic, yes. I understand though, if the music doesn't sound right to you, than you cannot use it. I made the mistake of letting my coach convince me into using "All that Jazz" for my ball routine, a few years ago. It's a long story as to how and why I ended up using it. I didn't care for the music, so obviously my performances of this routine suffered a lot. Anyhow, even if you cannot speak Hindi, Grace, I'm sure you can tell when something is wrong with the music cuts! And your whole conversation with your partner is very funny. hehe. - Quote :

It does sound like Charlie Brown, now that you mention it! Uh huh... I think you were secretly hoping that I would want to use it for my clubs routine! Some sort of revenge for me calling you a Navka fan. hehe. - Quote :

The review was mostly because I was trying to find something else to do besides math equations. or it may be just a crazy Literary student thing to do... either way. And yes, you definitly did help! - Quote :

(Yeah, you can tell. ) Don't worry, you definitly didn't post too much stuff! It's better, if I have a lot of pieces to listen to. It might save me from my yearly experience of picking my music in August. This involves my coach sending me off to the corner of the gym with a CD player and her entire collection of CDs. She orders me that if I haven't picked my music for such&such a routine by the end of the day, she'll choose it for me! Of course, by the end of the day, I still cannot decide between 3 or so pieces of music. And that anime soundtrack seems awfully strange! You didn't chose anything from it, I hope.

They are super fab. Unfortunatly, they are all a bit too slow and soft for clubs. I will be sure to keep them in mind for my other routines. Thanks, again, though! About the song from Cirque, I liked it alot... but my ball routine music is already from Cirque. So, I think more variety would be good. Kisses, Lana

Aha...of course. I agree, it's not very interesting to use the same "band" or same style to all the routines. What song from Cirque du Soleil do you use for your ball routine? Ohh... if you liked Xotica, I have a RG routine you should watch! One second, I just have to upload it! hehe. I didn't like Shi. I've listened to Korobushka a few times now and I reallllly like it. It would be very different from any piece that I've chosen before. And of course, Barcelona is completely fab! - Quote :

My coach is away at another competition. So, right now, the group of girls that I'm in are pretty much training ourselves. I'll ask my coach about possible music, when she returns. Usually, she doesn't have any issues with my choices.

Like in "Mario takes a walk" there is a very clear rhythm, because on the drums in the backgroud. - Quote :

Jeux d'Eau from "O" is the one that I'm going to use. I don't have the routine yet, of course. I just know that I want to use this music. It will be difficult piece, because you have to make all the elements look very light and flowy. hehe. Sweet dreams, Alex!!!

Mario takes a walk by Jesse Cook 5. Baghdad by Jesse Cook 6. Barcelona by John Tesh 7. Dance Hall by Rene Dupere 8. Desert by Rene Dupere I am getting major flashbacks to summer training. I really need to eliminate some of these songs from my list.

So, we listened to the songs on my Ipod and decided which pieces to cut off the list. Jenn was convinced that "Freedom" and "Explosive" were hoop music and I did agree eventually. She's been to enough of my competitions to know.

| I don't have time so I'll be very brief. I have to....sorry Thank you for the gym video...I like it. You were right!! Very nice. As for the music, "Mario takes a walk" is a LOVELY piece of music but somehow, not very sparkeling...for me. If it is like that for you, use it...It is beautiful, I just like the others a bit more. (More tomorrow, I hope) the song....nox - forogj vilag Spin, world Spin, world!- Sweep me into the light, Or i shall not live tomorrow! Your wild night kills me - although it waits for me with a kiss...
Don't hurt me, world - Don't embrace, don't feel- Your love hurts more! Don't play, world!- Let me go, if a happy land calls!
Ha'jna'ne... I want to be somewhere else for a long time! Ha'jna'ne... I don't see any light, i won't wait for it! Ha'jna'ne... I disappear in the sky or on the ground, just anywhere! Ha'jna'ne... This is how all sorrow may turn into a dream...
Spin, world!- I'm cold in the dark-, You are at the end of all hope. Crazy world: you flame up but turn into ice...
Don't hurt me, world!- I'm not walking on your path -, Don't ask, don't call, don't see me! Don't regret it, world!- All other hearts are yours...

I don't think I would have been able to do such a good translation. http://esc.ruz.net/2005/hun.htm (Lerka, it's also in russian...if you want to read about Nox) - I fell in love with the song...Thank you Grace Me...sleep..tired...essays...exams are coming soon...kisses to all...sleep tight...lovely days..
