Awfully off-topic, but I really need your help!

Some of you may already know that I study American culture from the point of view of linquistics.
What I actually do is studying FUN - I'm interested in everything which is connected with it. I'm going to find out what FUN is for Americans and if there is something like FUN in the Russian culture. That'll help a great deal in mutual understanding. I hope so )))

Wow. That sounds like such an interesting study, Vala! But hard to collect information, I'd imagine. I would love to help... but I'm from the wrong part of North America! Good luck with your study!!!

I'm very busy right now, but I'd like to answer all your questions when I'm less busy, maybe this Sunday or Monday.

One question, though, when you ask for "state of origin", do you mean the state where a person was born or the state where a person has spent the most time? I, for instance, only lived in the state where I was born for 13 days and never went back (my parents moved when I was 2 weeks old), so it obviously has not had much effect on my concept of "fun"! On the other hand, I lived in the third state my parents moved to for over 20 years.
