I will explain later...my friend played this in 7th grade and her teacher had a little story made up to explain to them how to play it. The Princess Bride? I like that movie, too. But you know that part where the huge rat attacks him? And the girl sort of just pokes it with her foot? That part always makes me laugh. Because, the rat could kill him... but she hardly does anyyyythiiiiing.

Ahhhh!!! It's a parody of "Lola" by the Kinks. The lyrics to "Yoda" are hilarious. But unfortunatly, "Lola" is one of my favourite songs ever. So, I can't really compare the two. Here you should definitely give "Lola" a listen, if you hadn't heard it, before.

No, I've never heard Korobushko before. Or Lola, but I will listen to that once I download it! The Piano Song was in Lesa's cousin's wedding. (Lesa is the one who played Russian Sailor's Dance in 7th. She's in 8th now... I'm her "mentor" if that's what you call it? Like a big sister to her? Can you imagine ME as a mentor? ) I will go scan the music onto my computer, because it has all of this random writing all over it...and it's just hilarious. (That's what the "story", if that's what you'll call it, is written on...) I will post some Josh Groban later...I have to decide which songs I will share, because I like a LOOOT of his stuff... And yes, I have time. At this point in time, I pretty much have no life... Whatever!! This gives me something to do!!

Lyra: And if this is during the rule of the USSR, then the government probably hates you!
Measures 14-26...
Lesa: Well, now it's only -45 F out!!
Lyra: But you're probably still starving and the government probably still suspects you of treason...
Measures 26-50...
Lesa: Well, things are brightening up! It's not too cold, only -10 F today, and you have a potato!!!
Lyra: Purple Potato!! (I was writing in purple pen and I drew a potato... )
Measures 50-62
Lesa: Things are getting better! The government no longer suspects you of treason, your crops aren't failing, it's getting warmer, and you have 3 potatoes!!!
Lyra: Why not a turnip? Or maybe a pineapple? :face: (Clearly I was become delusional...)

Lesa: The government doesn't hate you anymore, brings you back from Siberia, and now you live in St.Petersburg!!
Lyra: Hehe...too bad that when the USSR crashes, you'll probably be right back to Siberia... And instead of a lot of snow, in Peter you'll get a lot of rain! Hope you have an umbrella!!

Hehe...and that was our crazy little story/commentary on Russian Sailor's Dance...we tweaked her teacher's version a little bit... I hope that you like all of the music as well!

Thank you! Serisha means sister/friend in my random little language of my own...and I called my friend sestrichka the other day and she thought I called her Costa Rica?!?! I'm using a bunch of Rimsky-Korsakov this year (and a little part of Ruslan and Ludmilla...going back to my Russian roots!! and a little part of RSD! ). Too bad I don't compete! Then you could see my "Russian" year!! But right now, my ankle is better, but my elbow isn't, and my left knee has been giving me problems, so my coach and parents won't let me train... And so I've been reading Lerka's Baba Yaga dream, and I just read the part about what the music should be...there is a piece of music called "The Hut on Fowls' Legs"... I shall post it just for you, but Lerka absolutely has to see it!!

It's made up? Ah well, I will have to ask Lerochka for the real Russian word for friend. I like the Russian word for brother very much, "brat". Oh yes, my sestrichka is Lerchik!!!!! hehe. Here it is. I have a whole bunch of other things to post, but I'll do that in a minute. Writing is my life. That's why it took me that many hours to finish. I am a complete and utter perfectionist about my writing. And don't worry, I don't have to sleep quite yet. I'm going to go do some major stretching first, since I've been at the computer alllll day. No, I wasn't offended by the FD...I was rolling on the ground laughing in fact!!
Russian names are very pretty!! I especially like Irina, Valeri, Daria, and Anastasia for girls' names and Maxim, Roman, Aleksander (that spelling specifically), and Alexei for guys' names. Hehe...I have a friend named Daria...she is sitting right next to me as a matter of fact... But everyone calls her Dasha...hehe...brat does suit the name of brother...all 4 of my brothers love to torment me...although Dmitri has gotten better about it!!

I only have hoop and ribbon this year...BUT THEY ARE MY ABSOLUTE FAVES!!!!!! I begged my coach to let me do hoop again this year...last year I did a routine to the Russian Dance from the Nutcracker. I don't have the edited pieces for my routines for some reason, but I can post the unedited versions!
I am a perfectionist about EVERYTHING!!! If something is out of place or incorrect or imperfect, I pretty much freak out. And Dasha just made the comment that sometimes I even correct my teachers...but usually they just say thank you for pointing that out and they don't get mad.
YAY!! MORE MAKSIM!! Three words: Oh My Gosh. My 7th and 8th grade social studies teacher used to play Heart of Glass all the time!! I never thought I would hear that song again!! I liked her though. She was an awesome teacher and began teaching 8th grade after my 7th grade year, so I had her twice. (They built a new school and I got transferred and she also decided to change schools.) And I love Korobushko and Chocolate! :face: I will post some random songs in a little bit, my favorites and then unedited versions of my RG music! Hehe...I've been at the computer most all day too! But I've been taking breaks and all! I'm also going to post this random poem later that always reminds me of this forum.

Two routines? Nice. In Canada, that's like Inter-club or low level Provincial. But you don't compete? You should! hehe. I downloaded your routine music. Thanks for posting it! You like very classical sounding music, yes? I especially liked your ribbon music. My absolute dream pieces for routines are "Bolero" from Moulin Rouge, "Leeloo Tune" by Maksim Mrvica and "Incantation" from Cirque du Soleil. But, it changes about every month.
