sunny Congrats to all medalists and skaters .It was an amazing competition.Tessa ans Scot were absolutely great and they deserved their tittle 10000% .Charlie and Meryl were wonderful and Oksana and Max skated their best and i am happy to see this dance polished because is one of the best i,ve seen them skating ,they just weren't on the same level as V/M and D/W.However considering Max's condition it was a victory.Tanith and Ben like Johny Weir skated for honor and audience and like it was their Swan song. IMHO they were better than D/S but there was one USA team on the podium already .It is a pitty because last night they deserved medal .Exceptiional last dance from Isabelle and Olivier .The NBC narrator mentioned that this dance was a reflection of their carier and what a great journey it was for those two.Not many tittles but they sure had their spot in Ice Dance History.Faella and Massimo,Nathalie and Fabian,Jana and Sergey,Sinead and John ,they were just like a fresh air.
I trully enjoyed last night but somehow deep in my heart i was holding my tears because i wanted to see one more couple on the ice ,giving their best as always :our sweet darlings heart2 heart2 heart2 and it wasn't the same without them.It won't be the same .Never . zvet heart2

Albena commenting Vancouver competitions  :

http://sport.dir.bg/2010/02/23/news5930833.html (in Bulgarian)

Translation by google: (Sorry, online translation is sometimes a little bit strange...)
"Albena: When dancing was honest, remain with Joubert
February 23, 2010, 18:23
Source: Gong
Double world champion dance Denkova commented for Gong, the distribution of seats in the top ten of the Olympic figure skating tournament was fair. "Canadians showed great technique and ease of skating, deservedly took the gold. Medals were distributed correctly, couples showed support complex and difficult elements, but seemed to dance and recreating images were not so emotional, as they once played the old generation. Now under the new rules are more sets of equipment, lack artistic presence. However, the first three couples tried to implement programs in sync with the music to recreate its sound. "- Albena share in Russia. There are estimates of athletes representing the greatest country in the world are extremely sharp. "Not only in figure skating gold remains without Russia, because women with a strong Asian presence, even a medal can not be dreaming. In other sports also below the expected performance and money invested in training are enormous. Officials and heads of the federations are literally below the target. "- Albena tells of criticism in Russia. She and Maxim team remain in Brian Joubert, French figure skater wants to continue the battle on the ice again to prove itself as a world champion. Maxim was with him in Vancouver and training Brian was absolutely ready, but he failed a psychological collapse. It is important that it will continue. Choreographers in France like us. "-Denkova said. "

Intreview with Albena for 24 Hours about Olympics ,Brian and etc.-Thank you Geri and Hrisy from armleg.com/forum4e for the article

http://www.24chasa.bg/Article.asp?ArticleId=406571
Google translation

You can't become champion with one jump :

- Albena, double world champion will comment on how the competitions in figure skating at the Olympics in Vancouver?

- It worked very interesting. The fight for medals in the four species was much disputed. There were favorites, but as it was for men, and we saw big surprises.

In pairs: Chinese deserve applause (Shen / Honbo - b.r.) who came third Olympics for the gold and finally succeeded. Such longevity sport especially in figure skating occurs very rarely.

In men: the big surprise came from Lisachek who grabbed gold in the face of literally Plyushchenko.

The distribution of medals hugely controversial, but my personal opinion is that Eugene is a class above American, but Lisachek uses smarter rules and therefore wins. Under the new system needs to know the most weak and strong sides. To assess what elements to include and how to perform, to pick maximum points. Another question is whether this is the best system for the development of skating.

In dance: The first two places were "reserved" for Canada and the United States. The struggle of the practice was for third place. Maxim Shabalin and Oksana Domnina and made the maximum supported by the strong backing of the Russian Federation and the leadership of coaches Natalia Linichuk iGenadiy Karponosov failed to fight for bronze. Surprise was the sixth position of Delobel and Shonfelder. They are world champions in 2008 and naturally counted at least a medal, but had ambitions and Gold from Vancouver. Frantsuzite but failed to prepare properly. Isabelle is back on the ice only in October after the birth of their first child. The elements did their high value and quality of implementation - far less than what we are accustomed to seeing.

For women: for medals argued very good players, but exceptional natural talent as Kim Yu display it above the rest. Mao Assad meet two beautiful triple Axel, which are rare in women's skating.

Olympic spirit and character shown by Joan Roche Canada. She overcome great personal loss (her mother died before the tournament - b.r.) and took the bronze.

- Moreover for couples dancing?

- In addition to what I said, we saw a figure skater in an excellent shape, clean routines implemented such as Fayette and Rocks (IT), and made a nice impression frantsuzite foot and Burza. Winners from Canada and the United States have demonstrated new ideas and greater ease in skating. Perhaps they lack experience, but both duets exceed 20 years until their excellent sporting qualities compensate for the lack. Again we come to the question of the use of new rules to reach the most points. I think Igor Shpilband is one of the coaches are very good deal. Deficiencies in the system are that ice loss from the dancing beauty, because it came before any movement of the music. Now, as if dancing is more acrobatic and less artistic.

- You mentioned Shpilband. Together with Marina Zueva he prepares Varchu champions Tessa / Scott Moira and silver medalists Meryl Davis / White Cherli. How to get things to them?

- Shpilband many years working in the United States. There is your school and earn as a conveyor of quality dance couples. Lately, his regular players are among the medalists of the world for juniors, and now the men and women. Besides being a good athlete before Zueva is also known as coach of the famous Gordeyev and Grinkov, pairs of sporting legends and skating with his two Olympic titles. Apparently tandem with Shpilband works beautifully.

- In connection with the scandal Plyushchenko: what is the difference between the old and new system of assessments. What is most important now?

- First, be aware that in the figure skating results can not be disputed. Naturally, it is offensive so thou shalt put effort and time and finally razminesh with gold and filled it with a clean program. But under the new judicial system, the combination of two triple jumps in prices higher than fourfold.

Itself quad is a very complex item and it is not so large number of figure skater to do it. But you can not rely only on it for an Olympic title. The program of each player is the sum of many elements - jumps, combinations, pirouettes, steps, presentation and knowledge of skating, links between elements and to win, all components must have a high level. We all remember the uninitiated naYagudin victory in Salt Lake City with two quadruple jumps, but with the perfect combination of artistry and not forgotten by fans. This is a skill - be so good that there are no opportunities for subjective judgments.

- And Plyushchenko and Elvis Stojko said no quadruple jump is not worth the male skaters. Does it? Stojko even believes that Lisachek not deserve the title.

- Stojko was the typical saltatory player who showed the high value of their programs exactly these elements. It is reasonable to hold that position. But I think it's unsportsmanlike to make such an assessment of the implementation of Lisachek. However, he played well and most of its judges otrediha gold. On the occasion of the male skaters - this is a question of vision of the people by the International Skating Union and its technical committees. Our sport has always been criticized for subjectivity and the big reason this is continually making changes in the rules. My opinion is: any change factor likes / dislikes will always be present in the evaluation.

- Russia remained without a title for the first time since 1964 Why?

- The Russian Federation is one of the strongest in the skating. Results, experience, politics - these things have accumulated over the years. 20-30 For the latest sport is associated with the name of President Valentin Piseev. Many problems we created during our careers with Maxim, but I can not distort the soul and not to say that the course of his brilliant work. A long-time clerk, knows how to handle difficult situations and in spite of major criticism when I think Piseev will remain in office. In Russia, given huge money for sport and sports facilities. This time the funds are not expectations.

I liked the endless remarks made by President Medvedev, who said that sport is not everything depends on money and the poor ranking of the Olympics comes from a lack of continuity, methods and responses to the leadership. That it emphasize in this connection that in Bulgaria always the reason for failure is "no money".

- You Maxim preparing choreography of former world champion Brian Joubert of France. After the failure he himself called the little fool. Why again did nothing to Olympics?

- Brian had a nasty injury in December, broke up their preparations for 3 weeks and came back well behind compared to the competition. European clearly not reached its confidence in the voluntary and physics program. Of training before Vancouver, he managed to catch up missed. It was very concentrated, and the Olympics - clean before the start of training. Then clearly not supported by psychological stress.

Expectations for him were huge, and the return of Plyushchenko add further tension. I do not know, it is very complicated. In addition to peak form for Olympics sports require very strong mentality. Pity
