Well, you know them and I don't, so maybe you know that for anyone to talk Albena and Maxim into staying if they don't want to is impossible. I don't know them, and it's not hard for me to imagine that an athlete might be pursuaded to keep competing when they'd rather not, because I've seen it happen. It's not uncommon. This is why I, personally, can't ask them to stay, or even hope that they stay, because I don't feel like I have any right to ask this kind of thing of them. If they want to stay they will, and if they don't, they won't, and nothing I think or feel should make any difference to that decision. - Quote :
- So I think if they stay it would be because they want to be "two times World Champions", to win Europeans.. and.. to enjoy being at the top!
Well, that is the only reason I'd want to see them back! - Quote :

Yeah, me too! Maybe we should go and join them, eh Grace? Yes yes. Let's go! I promise not to touch the Hummer. Megan and Aaron have definitely retired, they are both going back to university to finish their graduate degrees. They were never my favourite team, but I did admire them as people in some ways, so I hope they will be very successful in their future lives. And I agree with Lana that they would have had a hard time staying ahead of Tessa and Scott anyway. - Lana wrote:
- As for growing thin... I don't know. Well, not everyone should have to be sticks like Tanith and Navka.
Yes, I agree, and one of the things I admired about Megan was that she was the only girl I've ever seen go to be trained by Igor Shpilband who didn't immediately start looking completely anorexic. There are horror stories about his rules about eating, and I always really admired that she decided to make her health more important than his ridiculous demands. Besides, she was plenty thin, she just wasn't Tanith. No one could ever realistically call Megan Wing fat!

| I'm a little bit off-topic but talking about coaches I wondered how Gorshkov reacted when Albie&Max became champions, what he thinks about that maybe he regrets because he could be the coach of the world champions Do you think that if Albie&Max were still coached by Gorshkov, they could became champions I doubt but we'll never know that, eh? I think they changed after they moved at Linichuk&Karponosov? Gorshkov is good coach too, and Petukhov is brilliant choreographer, but it was time for change, I think. | |

| I think they improved a lot under Linichuk, although I don't even like to think about NHK. They were very smart to change the rhythms of their OD, that was not a cha cha in any way, shape, or form. But overall they're more polished, more confident, and their interpretation is a thousand times better. Gorshkov is obviously a very good coach and Petukhov a good choreographer, but they really needed someone new to look at them. | |

Yes, I think that Gorshkov and Petukhov care too much about their russian dancers, and pay less attention to Albie and Max

| Hmm... Gorshkov and Petukhov were great. In my opinion they trained very well, they teached Albena and Maxim a lot. They did fabulous programs, they created the "name" for them, they were very original (Of course, this was possible because of Albena and Maxim's desire to improve, to do new things, to invent, to create...) BUT....the change had to come. It was necessary. They become more preoccupied with other couples, they were maybe a bit carreless, not willing to fight and join the struggle Albena and Maxim had to do... I think Linichuk was a great choice.. Look what she did!! she is great..Too bad they had to go train so far (Very far for someof us). But I hope they will go again... | |

| Yes, Linichuk was great choice But did you notice that she didn't even smile when they became champions I'm sure she was very very happy, but she didn't show it at all. | |

Well...probaly she was very happy, I am sure she was proud. Although, it's harder to feel like the dancers do, to live every move along with the couple, to be scared, to have so many emotions after only one year... Of course she had all this (I guess) but you can not compare with the feelings and recactions a coach that trains the same couple for 10 years has at that moment. Or... ....maybe, this is the way she is, more reserved. Maybe she never shows her emotions...
