Интервью Максима Ставийского перед болгарской газетой „Труд" от 12 января 2009 г.

Максим, кто первый сообщил тебе, что ты осужден на 2.5 года тюрьмы?
О приговоре я узнал из медий, хотя был в Софии.

Как ты прокомментируеш приговор?
Я понесу всякий приговор Даю себе отчет, что никакие деньги не вернут Петра, но могут помочь Мануеле вернутся в нормальную жизнь.Но для этого мне необходимо работать.

Part 2:

Чем ты сейчас занимаешся?
Сейчас я участвую в проекте ЛП.Это шоу, которое требует улыбчивых артистов, харизматичных и приятных. Мне очень трудно, но нет другого выбора.Я благодарен продуцентам, что дают мне работу и стараюсь не показывать публике ситуацию, в которой нахожусь.Работаю и вторым тренером у Александра Жулина.Мне нужно чувствовать себя полезным и если буду сидеть дома, этого нельзя постичь. Каждую свободную минуту использую, чтобы работать.

Тебе работа помогает отряхнуться от шока?
Конечно. Помню слова Васко Василева, известного скрипача, который позвонил мне минуты после ДТП. „Теперь сам переоцени, что зависит от тебя и что еще поправимо.Работай, если нужно, круглые сутки.Это твой единственный шанс." Он потерял брата в подобной катастрофе, отказался играть от боли и скорби, остался дома и прекратил все концерты.И только друзья и работа вывели его снова в нормальную жизнь…
Мне работа помогает преодолеть стресс, так я хоть чувствую себя нужным, но когда остаюсь один, я думаю только о пережитом.

Part 3:

Как переменилась твоя жизнь после ДТП?
Все перевернулось и это понятно. Я много раз отказывал интервью, потому что чувствую себя виноватым и не хотел ни оправдываться, ни отвечать на потоки откровенной лжи в мой адрес, которые говорятся и пишутся с тех пор.

Чувствую себя виновным! Я даю себе полный отчет в том,что причинил.

Я тронут комментариями людей, которые поддерживают меня в трудную минуту-они мне дают силы продолжать.Никто меня не оправдывает, конечно, но я говорю о понимании. Я свое наказание уже несу.

Ответственность известных людей намного больше. Абсолютно ясно, что тогда с этой ответственностью я не справился.Но я научился этому, благодаря этому уроку.

И что за урок?
Я понял, что если ты легкомыслен можешь пострадать не только ты, но и люди, совершенно тебе незнакомые.И одновременно с этим меняется и жизнь твоих самых близких людей.Чувствую себя виновным и знаю , что это чувство останется со мной навсегда….

Уже известно, что до ДТП тебя остановили полицейские. Что случилось тогда?

Они остановили меня на прямой дороге и сказали, что вожу очень близко к переднему автобусу. Проверили документы и велели соблюдать дистанцию по правилам.

Part 4:

А проверка на алкоголь?
Нет, не было причин на это.

И что было потом?
Пять минуть после проверки случился удар. Все случилось за секунду, как кадр из фильма.После удара вышел из своей машины и бросился к людям во встречном автомобиле. Вместе с двоюродным братом Петра и Валентина(брат Петра, ехал на переднем сиденье справа) пробовали вынимать их из машины. Первые минуты бегал как свихнувшийся помогать…Потом пришла Скорая помощь.

Полицейские велели встать около их машины и дышать спокойно. Сразу был тест дрегерем и показал 1.1 промиля. Потом отвезли в поликлинике близкого города Приморско и сделали кровный тест, который показал 1.18 промилей. Чувствовал себя ужасно!

Никогда до этого не останавливали меня на пробу дрегерем. Знаю, что это звучит цинично, но машина мне спасла жизнь.Правда, которую не могу не произнести-я употребил алкоголь и был на диете, но не был пьян! Человек, с которым вынимали пострадавших и полицейские, потом сказали, что удивлены положительным тестом дрегеря на алкоголь.

Первые месяцы после катастрофы мы не выходили с Албеной из дома.Я даже не смел на балкон выйти.Албена, ни в чем не виновная, и до сих пор не может преодолеть чувство стыда и неудобства из-за ДТП.

Part 5:

Ты встречался с близкими погибшего Петра и Мануелы ?
На первой судебной инстанции (в Бургасе) я подошел к родителям Петра и Валентина и попросил прощения. Они не приняли этого.Я понимаю их.Я бы поступил так же.
Первые часы после ДТП врачи мне сказали, что не надо видеться с близкими пострадавших, т.к. это отразится негативно на их психике.Однако, уже на другой день после инцидента я свиделся с Горсовыми и обещал им сделать все, что в моих возможностях, чтобы помочь Мануеле.Сделал все возможное переместить ее в Военно-Медицинскую Академию (ВМА) в Софии и первые недели был в контакте с Горсовым почти ежечасно.Я очень благодарен начальнику больницы ВМА, шефу реанимации ВМА и всем их коллегам.Я предложил помогать и деньгами и лекарствами Мануеле. Мне отказали, у них есть строгие внутрибольничные правила, которые не допускают этого.

Когда изменились эти отношения с Горсовыми?
Как я сказаль, в начале созванивались очень часто с Горсовым. Я предложил найти ему постоянную работу в Софии, т.к. они из города Велико Търново.Я давал ему и деньги. В один момент он перестал со мной общаться. Я так думаю, ему кто то посоветовал, что если все время говорить, что я не хочу помогать Мануеле, развернувшаяся благотворительную кампания будет более успешной.Горсов перестал мне звонить, но начал говорить по радио и телевидению вещи, которые не соответствуют фактам и правде.То, что мы прекратили общаться, не означает, что я отказываюсь от своего ангажемента к Мануеле-ее выздоровление-это мой личный моральный ангажемент.Я вполне осознаю, как трагически перевернул жизнь этим семьям.

Part 6:

Какую часть ссуд ты выплатил?
Я настоял выплатить деньги Мануеле еще до окончательного решения суда, потому что она нуждалась в этом еще тогда. Я перевел 80 тыс левов(40 тыс евро) в тот же момент, когда успел их собрать.Хотел перевести еще 20 тыс левов(10 тыс евро)в израельскую клинику, где она лечится, но надо было согласие родителей, а они молчали……. Через адвокатов это было улажено и в конце ноября был сделан перевод и этих денег.
Ссуду родителям Петра плачу постепенно. До сих пор перевел 110 тыс левов (55 тыс евро). Раз ты чемпион и люди думают, что ты очень богат. Моя мать-Рита, работает в московском радио, мой отец-инженер –энергетик. Они помогали мне насколько могли в выплате ссуд тоже….

Теперь о слухах, что предстоит расставание с Албеной….
Албена была со мной с первой секунды несчастья. Она не только осталась со мной, но помогает мне во всем. Я считаю, что наша связь сделалась еще крепче.

Ты готов принять эффективный приговор - тюрьму?
Я приму каждое решение суда, когда оно будет окончательным. Но мое убеждение, что на свободе я смогу быть более полезным для Мануелы. Никакой нормальный человек не хочет попадать в тюрьму.

-Maxim, who first did tell you that you got sentence - 2,5 years of prison?
-I could know it from the media, despite I was in Sofia.
-How do you comment the sentence?
-I’ll take any sentence. I know inside that no any money in the world will bring Peter back, but I can help Manuela to come back into normal life. But for this I need to work.
-What are you doing now?
-Now I’m taking part in the Ice Age project. This show needs smiley actors, nice and charismatic people. It’s very hard for me, but I have no other choice. I’m thankful to the producers for giving me job and try not to show to the public the situation which I’m into now. Also I work as a second coach by Alexander Zhulin. I need to feel useful and if I sit at home I won’t achieve it. I use every minute for working.
-Does the work help you to feel better after such a shock?
-Of course. I remember the words of Vasko Vasiljev, famous violinist, who called me immediately after the accident. “Change your mind now, think what depends on you now, realize what you can do yet. Work non-stopping, if it’s necessary. It’s your only chance.” He lost his brother in similar accident and gave up doing his work from all the pain and sorrow he felt that time, stayed at home and cancelled all the concerts. And only his friends and job brought him back to life. My job helps me to bear the stress, this way I feel that I’m useful. But when I stay alone the only I can think about is that accident.
-How did your life change after that accident?
-All is upside-down and it’s clear to see. Many times I denied to take an interview from me, because I feel guilty and don’t want to whiten myself or to answers all those rivers of lie people say about me.
Sure I feel guilty! And I completely understand what I did.
I’m touched by the comments of the people who support me at this hard period, they give me strengths to continue. Of course nobody says I’m not guilty, I’m talking about understanding. I’ve been already bearing my sentence. Responsibility of famous people is much bigger. It’s absolutely clear that I failed. But it gave a good lesson for life.
-What kind of lesson?
-I understood that if you’re too light-minded you can hurt not only yourself but other people too, anybody around you. And at the same time the life of your close people changes too. I feel guilty and I know that this sense will stay with me forever.
-It’s known that before the accident you were stopped by the policeman. What happened?
-They stopped me on the straight road and told me that I drive too close to ahead-going bus. Checked my documents and told me to keep the right distance.
-And what about alcohol test?
-No, there was no reason for that.
-What happened next?
-After five minutes after police control, the hit happened. It all happened in a second, like a movie shot. After a hit I came out of my car and ran to the people on the other line of the road. Together with the cousin of Peter and Valentine we tried to pull them out of the car. First moments I was running like a mad trying to help in anyway…The ambulance arrived. The police told me to stand calmly near their car. Immediately they made a test with dreger (dreger? Sorry I don’t know what it means…). It showed 1.1 promille. Then they took me to the local hospital and again made an alcho test, which showed 1.18. I felt awful! Never before I was stopped for testing with dreger, I know that it sounds cynical, but the car saved my life. The truth, which I can’t keep untold, is that I drank alcohol and was on a diet, but I wasn’t drunk! The man who helped us to pull victims out of the car and the policemen were surprised that this dreger-test showed positive result. First months after the accident we didn’t go out with Albena. I even couldn’t go out to the balcony. Albena who is absolutely innocent still can’t go out and bear the shame after this accident.
-Did you meet with the relatives of the victims – Peter and Manuela?
-On the first trial I came up to the parents of Peter and Valentin and asked for forgiveness. They didn’t accept that. I understand them. I’d do the same. First hours after the accident doctors advised me not to talk with the relatives of victims, cause it might badly influence on their psychic. But the next day after the accident I came to see Gorsov and promised him to do everything possible to help Manuela. I did everything I could to put her into Sofia Sea Academia hospital and first weeks I was in contact with Gorsov all the time. I’m very thankful to the haed of that hospital, chief of reanimation and to all their colleagues. I offered to help Manuela with money and medicines. They denied me cause they have very strict rules in the hospital about it.
-How did you relations with Gorsov change?
-As I said in the beginning we called each other very often. I offered him to find a permanent job in Sofia, as far as he’s from Veliko Tarnovo. I gave him money. At one moment he stopped to be in contact with me. I guess somebody advised him to do that. Ttat if he tells all the time that I don’t want to help him, the charity company for Manuela will be more successful. Gorsov stopped calling me, but began to give interviews on the radio and tv about the things which were not true at all. And that fact that we stopped meeting doesn’t mean that I’ll stop helping Manuela. Her recovering is my personal aim and duty. I clearly see how upside-down I made their lives.
-Which part of money have you already paid?
-I insisted to pay money for Manuela even before the court sent its decision. Because she needed them that time already. I sent to their bank account 80,000 levas in the very moment I could gather them. I wanted to send also 20,000 levas to the Israel clinic, where she’s been treated now, but I needed the agreement of the parents. They kept the silence. Only throu the lawyers we could make it and in November everything was done.
Money for Peter I pay by steps. Until now I paid 110,000 levas. People think you’re very rich if you’re a champion. My mother Rita is working on the radio, my father is engineer. They helped me to pay the money also.
-Now about the rumors of that you and Albena torn apart…
-Albena was with me from the first seconds of the misery. She not only stayed with me, but helped me a lot. I think our love and relationships became much stronger now.
-Are you ready to take the effective sentence – to go to jail?
-I’ll take any sentence of the court, when it’s finish. But I’m sure that being free I can be more useful for Manuela. No any normal human wants to go to jail.

Swetis, I still wondered why the text I found was in Russian language and the newspaper was said to be a Bulgarian one ... Maybe you´re right and "Trud" exists in Russia and Bulgaria; this would be the explanation ...
