Vania, as you like old french songs, do you want me to post some Charles Aznavour's songs ? Maybe you already know some... Just tell me !

Oh, yes, if you have time Kisssssssssss I like too Mireille Mathieu's songs, especially two, but I don't know its names ( :blush2: :blush2: :blush2: )
I'll try to remember what she sings and search for the lyrics in Internet, then I can tell you the titles (uh, so complicated... :kataus: )

Sorry, to interfere...buuuut I noticed smth Very Happy
'padam' means fall in Bulgarian and in Polish "spadam" means the same, 'I fall'. Hehe...similarities. I just love them, makes languages (or at least words) easier to learn, remember Very Happy
Vanichka, we should go to the language section cause I would like to ask you smth.

Yes, yes, she performes these songs as well. I think she did an album on which she only sings Edith's songs.
I'm looking for them.

Did Pernelle & Mathieu used "La foule" in their FD ? I remember about "Milord", but "La foule", I'm not sure... Suspect

I'm glad you like "Le port d'Amsterdam". Jacques Brel's voice is really amazing Buh... Everything he sings is so powerful. And what do you think about "La chanson des vieux amants" ? It's so beautiful... Thses three songs are my favorite by Brel :stari:.

PostSubject: Re: French music   French music - Page 10 Icon_minitimeTue 24 Apr - 23:34

Because Alex asked for these songs (and Val is always interested by French songs too :kataus:), here is Olivia Ruiz (my favorite songs from her last album) :

J'traîne les pieds lovely heart (this one is about her, her childhood, the café that her mother owned)
La femme chocolat (it means The Chocolate Woman or smth like that)
Non-dits (with Christian Olivier)
Cabaret Blanc (this one is about her and when she began to sing in some cabarets. Blanc means white, but it's her real family name too, so it's a kind of wink I guess.)
I need a child (this one is in English. Alex, if you like our French cute accent, I think you'll like this song, I think that Olivia has the same accent !)
Quijote :dube: (this one is in Spanish. Olivia has some Spenish roots. I like this song very much)
La fille du vent lovely heart (I don't know how to translate the title, maybe The girl of the wind. In this one, she sings about her personnality, she's the girl of the wind. She sings about her parents a bit too, her Spanish roots).
La Molinera :luvzy: (it's a duet with her father, in Spanish. La molinera means the miller's wife. This duet is just beautiful).

And the last one is a song that Lerochka posted, but I posted it again for you Alex, because I love it, and I like Olivia's voice in it. It's a duet with Benabar.
Ma p'tite chanson (chanson means song, ma is my, you already know that, and p'tite is the cuter version of petite. In this case, it can mean both small and cute, like tite means, you know).

Well, I really hope you'll like these songs Alex ! (I already know that Val will love them, she loves everything is French ! :kataus:). Maybe Vania will like them too ! Very Happy

Hehe, you're welcome !!! zvet

As uploading songs seems to be my favorite hobby these days :kataus: , here are some other French songs :blush2: .
Val, who likes very much Zazie too :mdr: doesn't have these songs, and maybe some other girls will like them too !

All these songs are from Zazie's second album Zen (dated from 1994, I know it's quite old...). This album is my favorite one. Dieu que pour toi and J'envoie valser are from this album ! So I'm sure you'll love the songs Val !

Zen --> the most famous Zazie's song. Everybody in France knows it.
Larsen --> this one is very famous too. I like it very much :dube:
Homme Sweet Homme
Un point c'est toi
Fou de toi lovely heart
Craque monsieur

Well... I think that now, you have many many Zazie's songs in your French folder ! :mdr: But I can't help it, I just love this singer ! :dube: I hope you'll enjoy them too ! :blush2:

As these songs are pretty old now, you can hear some differences in Zazie's voice if you listen to J'envoie valser and, just after, Je suis un homme. In 1994, Zazie's voice was sweeter than now (it's sometimes harsh on her new album. Maybe she should stop smoking... Ayayay! ).
