It's true. I wanted to say that they are very decent people and they won't hurt anybody's feelings or they won't embarass somebody with their statements. But I think classy is a better word for this...

I have faith in them and I know they will do great. Everything they touch turnes out very well..spectacular and beautiful.

And I admire their darenes (courrage) to do this. It's great.

This was exactly my reaction. Also... this is going to be on at like 2 in the afternoon (14h) ??? In the U.S., definitely anything with people talking about strip bars would have to be on very late at night.

I'm almost positive it will be (well, it couldn't be less classy! ), but still, even just the description would get it pushed back to the middle of the night here. Maybe it's just a North America thing, but there's no way anything even advertised like this-- even if it turned out to be completely normal and not scandalous at all-- would ever be on in the middle of the day on a weekend!

I mean, think of the children who might accidentally see it!

I strongly think that this will be a regular, nice interview in which we will find out some extra things (you will...I don't have the channel and I don't know the language ). They will mention some hot stories probably but in a manner in which nobody should be ashamed...

They know what they are doing...they won't make mistakes...

Putting it after midnight is a bit exagerated in my opinion (although we have some reglemenations as well....only for those over 12 years, over 16 years, at least 18...). It's just a regular show...with a spicy interview

Well, maybe not after midnight, but never in the middle of the day, and the US rules about what can be on television and when are quite strict. (I think they're a little bit less strict in Canada than in the US, but still much stricter than Europe!) There rules are mostly about language and sexual content-- there are certain words you can never say except on particular channels (very expensive channels which you must pay for specifically), certain body parts you cannot show (again, except on those particular channels which most people don't get), and certain things no one would ever, ever talk about! For example, celebrities and sports stars in the US would never even hint that they were going to go on TV and talk about their sex lives! It's just not done. It is, as you say, very prim.

It is not unusual these days for American television stations to be fined many hundreds of thousands of dollars for violating these rules.

I'm not saying that Albena and Maxim are actually going to talk about all the things this little article says, or that there's anything wrong with it if they do! Personally, I think that such things shouldn't be hidden from society, like they're something too dirty to be talked about in public. It's just that for me, since I grew up in the US, it's very strange that it would even be suggested that they will talk about these things! I think Lana can understand because she's from Canada, but... the rules about what can be shown on TV, or even what can be said will be shown on TV, are very very different in America than they are in Europe! The first time I was in Europe I was always shocked at what was on the television.

I think I can assume that Lana agrees with me (and if she doesn't, she can say so ), but I don't think there's anything "wrong" with this at all, it's just surprising for me because it would never ever happen here! Anyway, I agree with Alexandra that it'll probably turn out not to be that big a deal.

Yes, I agree completely with everything that you wrote, Grace. I was going to try and write a similar post... but I decided you would probably explain it better than I could!!! As someone who lives in Canada, I find it surprising that this would be shown at this time and on the weekend on TV. Well, it is a big deal if you refer to Albena and Maxim talking about thier lives, because they were so discreet before and they've never mentioned things like this. So, it will be very interesting to hear this.
It's not a big deal if you refer to what they might say and how this could affect children, for example.

I agree, there are major and huge differences about how europeans perceive tv and how do americans. although is not such a problem..

Grace, I can't imagine this shock you had when you came in Europe. It's probably very likely to feel this way..but it seems weird to me..I can't put myself in your shoes...

Sometimes our televisions, shows are very exagerated and they do cross the line...but I don't think this will be the case with "vip zone" (this was the name, right? )

Yes, New Zeeland..wow...You have lovely landscapes there. I've seen some photos.
I'd curious myself to hear about figure skating in your country...Some facts about skating rinks and coaches, athletes...

I'm from Romania and as far as I know we have 2 "good" ice-rinks and we have only 2 persons that are somehow involved. One is Gheorghe Chiper who made it in the first 15..and I'm proud of him although many romanians have no idea about him (he doesn't train in Romania nor live here:( ) and a girl Raluca, but she is not that good and also had some injuries so she wasn't able to qualify at all...

As for Pairs and Ice Dancing, it would be too much to ask from Romania... maybe in the near future....
Let me put this nicely by saying that Romania is better known for gymnasts than skating...

I don't even dare to dream to a similar succes that Bulgaria had with this amazing couple...

Why not dreaming, Alexandra? Ten years ago (or even less) in Bulgaria maybe no one thought that one day we'll have WORLDS CHAMPIONS. That seemed almost impossible. We have only 2 ice rinks (just as you )
Everything is possible. If you have some talented skater and he/she finds a good coach, as Albena and Max did ...

Yes, I know.....

Bulgaria is so similar with Romania in so many ways...same context (economics, politics, history, influences...). But this seems almost impossible because there aren't so many people involved in this sport. And the ones who are, are training with foreign coaches in other countries. And you have to start trainig from a very early age and this is quite difficul and expensive here.

Ok, I admit I don't know the whole status-quo around here as far as figure skating is concerned but it still seems very difficult....

But who knows...maybe some day...
Yes everything is possible, almost everything if you have the proper chances, situations and you are in the right place in the right time with all the amount of determination and ambition you have...
