I hope you're right!!! I also hope there will be a "revolt" if anything goes wrong. I was thinking that somebody should react and take a stand in front of all this. But who? Who should do this? Skaters? Audience? Federations? Is it actually possible to change smth? I am inclined to belive that the policies will not change very soon

Well, I don´t know wether I should post this or not, but I heard some really scary theories about the Worlds in Warsaw, that make me REALLY sad/mad.
Rumours are saying that the Gold is for Canada / USA and the other medal is for Russia. That was the mail reason why Isa and Oliver get the gold at Euros, they are not getting anything at the Worlds, neither do Albena and Maxim...I was completely devastated when I heard that!
I hope it is just a rumour!!! Sorry for bringing up ideas you already discussed. But they worry me too much.... And this seems to be another evidence that things aren't unfolding only when the event takes place but before that. I think these discussions were always present....every year. MAybe we were not aware of them. How do you think that judges can overmark or undermark a couple so greatly? One judge alone could not do it. We have the same chances as in previous years to assist to unfair judging. Maybe what shoegirl said seems to be new and frightening (and it is!!!) but I think these kind of statements were present before too... Unfortunatelly.... I agree though that if all the couples present clean skating, Albena and Maxim should still be in the first position!! Have to go now, See you soon, I hope for the best!!!

Thanks for the news, lanadd! I can't wait to see the new (changed) costumes. I'm already feeling very nervous about the Worlds . I hope everything will be fine with Albie and Max. Good luck!

I totally aree with both of you..I don't think that what Shoegirl said is new...I don't think that there is an ice dancing fan who trully believes that the placements are decided only from what is done on the ice...It is such a pity to have this painfull reality in this sooo beautiful sport I hope that what happened to Lobacheva/Averbukh at their last wolds won't happen to A&M.

Whatever the outcome, everyone will surely find something to be happy about and something that will make you sad. Such is life. I think I agree pretty much completely with Shanti. I'm going to wait until after the Compulsories in Tokyo finish, before I start panicking about the possible results. With the exception of Euros, Albena and Maxim have won all of their competitions. In my opinion, they've had a much better season than last year. They came to both of their Grand Prix events looking extremely prepared and focused. They even won the Grand Prix Final. Albena and Maxim have two gorgeous dances , which if they skate them perfectly should put them on the top of the podium. Of course, I say "should" because you never know what the judges will do in Ice Dancing. But the judging is always so unpredictable. Last year, I became all stressed over their Worlds results, months before the event even started! And Albena and Maxim ended up winning it. So, I've decided that this year... I'm just going to wait and see. I'm extremely glad to hear that Albena and Maxim have fixed their OD spin!!!! It's going to be soooo fab to see their changed costumes, too. And I wish them lots and lots and lots of luck for Worlds!!!!!

Oh from your lips to The Skating God Ears Yes, they will win, if they skate perfect! I do believe that They must be perfect and don't give any reason to the judges to misjudge them with some stupid excuse, like for example during the OG, in the FD when A&M didn't hold the lift for 6 seconds, but for a bit more or less, I don't remember. And they had a deduction for that reason. I found this rule a bit stupid - who or what counts these seconds? And what happens when they don't count them exactly? But who am I to teach the judges ?

That is to be expected because of the difference in time, I think.. :: Ahh...but it's not fair!!! If I want to watch it live..they should offer me this possibility. I mean, they have the right to broadcast anyway..and who cares about the night program. They should let people have the chance to see it live. I would. I would stay awake or wake up. And it's horrible not to see their last competition live ....like last year with the FD. Crap..it was so frustrating. It's not the same to watch the competition after you know the results!! I hope they'll broadcast everything live...unfortunatelly I highly doubt they will do it!

| Sorry...I keep changing the lines of discussions. But I have read many messages and some of them made me react Aline, can you please tell me more about Brian's injury? Or if you wrote about it in another topic, can you please tell me where to search. But I'm glad he is confident and that he feels prepared. He really is such a nice guy and talented skater.....I do hope he gets the gold. Ehh , I think he will! As for Albenka and Maxim..I can't be optimist. I'm usually not optimist. Everytime I hoped for gold, judges proved me the contrary....so now I have little faith!! This faith comes from Albena and Maxim. I know they will fight and that they are strong..so I have to belive as well. And I do belive in them!! I belive in their dances!! I belive they will skate simply beautiful!! I hope they will enjoy it!! | |
