I think that they just said that without thinking... But perhaps they were thinking about it!!! Because they were always hoping for good places for Albena and Max!

| Well... about the commentators. In Bulgaria i've heard only two people to comment figure skating: the Eurosport commentator (Vitomir Saraivanov ) and a woman from the national TV (I don't know her name) - she always says a lot of... hm... strange things. Don't remember all of them... about Oxana Domnina: 2006 Worlds: "...she showed us a lot of flexibility and elegance during the lifts" 2006 GPF: "The flexibility is definitely not her strength!"(or something like that) ? She always says things like that. But you can forgive such things, because she likes Albie&Max, of course + DelScho!!! | |

I think I understand what woman are you talking about, Geri! I don't like her She talks too much during the routine, she always "covers" music with some very obvious comments.. she confuses things and events verrrry often. GPF 2006. OD. Delobel & Shoenfelder. "They compete at the international level for many years already, but they could get only one medal. It was two years ago at the European Championships in Lyon." Sorry, gospojitse, but Lyon was last year and Isabelle & Olivier took their medal at the Europeans in Torino..

Totally agree! But I like the Eurosport commentator very much! I know he talks maybe too much about secondary things (gossips) and not so much about skating, but he never talks too much over the programs and what I really love about him: he is also a football commentor, so he talks verrry emotionaly - like he is commenting football! However (God, somtimes i really talk too much - you should stop me), what I really wanted to say was that I forgot the third commentor during the Worlds last year - Ina!!!!(Albena's sister) She was really likeable!

It's Tsvetelina Abrasheva and I completely agree with you, Geri and Lerka! I admit she's very competent, because she was a skater, but as a commentator she's a disaster! I've said already about the way she pronounce Gwendal's name (P iezerat) and about Marie-France Dubreuil better don't ask how she pronounces it (smth like Дюброа and Дюброл) Besides, as Lerka says, she talks too much during the routines. - Lerka wrote:

Sorry, gospojitse, but Lyon was last year and Isabelle & Olivier took their medal at the Europeans in Torino.. huh, no comment... Lerka, how do you know what she said? Maybe you watched a video from a BG TV channel?

| Another one "brilliant" idea: the name of Nath&Fab's FD last year Les Misérables, pronounced by her like this: Лес Мизераблес (she just spelled it) Ok, I know, she's not obliged to speak French, but at least, she could check how to pronounce the names of the skaters (oh Оливър was just ...). From this point of view, the Eurosport commentator (Vitomir) is much more competent. And another mistake; I'm not 100% sure how is pronounced the name of Evan Lysacek, but certainly, it's not Лясачек (Lyasacek) | |

And what about Schoenfelder ? I guess it's very difficult to pronounce... Here, our commentators have huuuuuuuuuge problems with Aliona and Robin, especially with Szolkowy, it's too difficult for them. And with Russian names too (I don't know the exact pronounciation because of them... ).

| The commentators in America are just...interesting. They will sometimes talk about random things in the middle of the programs and it seems as if they feel compelled to explain EVERY THING in a program...and their pronunciation of the Russian and French, and foreign in general, names is just terrible. It can get kind of annoying at times...most of the time I will watch with the sound off because they won't shut up... Lyra | |

| I sort of hate the American commentators too, except for my inexplicable crush on Terry Gannon. For someone who's never been involved in skating, he's actually managed to learn a lot about it, and he's starting to voice his opinion more, if in a sort of a subtle way. Like at Cup of China when he basically badgered Susie Wynne (who makes me craaaaazy, in a bad way ) into admitting that Belbin/Agosto's FD was really, really, really bad. Also, I think at 2004 Worlds, he watched Navka's OD and said, "I have ants in my kitchen that can do that footwork," which, since it was absurdly easy footwork, was incredibly hilarious. To me. And actually I really don't mind Dick Button either, since he's so old now and he just sort of blurts out whatever he's thinking without really processing it through his brain first, like at the Olympics last year when he called Albena and Maxim "the essence of seduction". I'm not really sure what that means, but I think I like it. I think I've gotten to where I let the commentators be their own (unintentional) comedy show completely separate from the skating, life is much less irritating that way. | |

Umm...I must say that I agree with you. Susie Wynne is just kinda annoying... And he actaully got her to admit that!?!?! I didn't really pay attention to their program... I just sat there yelling at them for their terrible footwork and that she looks like a barbie doll... And the ants is just hilarious!! :kataus:I must admit that it is amusing...And yes, Terry is brilliant, even without experience in figure skating. I honestly think that he and Button make the most sense when they talk... - Grace wrote:

I'm not really sure what that means, but I think I like it. Dick Button is just wonderful!! He's always saying exactly what I want to say...well, most of the time! "the essence of seduction" I think means that they had soo much passion and heat and that that is the heart of well...seduction... Dick Button is just kinda random at times...but I like it. And the things he says during programs is at least intelligent, so I don't mind when he talks... - Grace wrote:

Well, in the twisted society that America has become, it fits in quite nicely. That would make an interesting show, eh? All of the random, and most of the time stupid or idiotic, comments and questions... Lyra
