It really would, I think in Europeans Joubert didnt really compete to his best because there was nobody really to compete against (Werner was good, but there was no doubt Joubert would win)!
A lot of people I talked to missed him and even the Joubert fans wished he was there

Well, I believe it's decided Stephane will compete in Japan. He announced it some time ago And all I can say is "YEAH!!!"
I've seen his Flamenco LP on youtube and it's fabulous, so much character and attitude in every move!

Le troisième consécutif, après ses médailles d'or obtenues à Moscou (2005) et à Calgary (2006).

Mais la route qui mène au succès est parsemée d'embûches. En l'absence d'Evgeni Plushenko, ses principaux rivaux seront le Français Brian Joubert, l'Américain Evan Lysacek et le Canadien Jeffrey Buttle. Il faudra également se méfier des deux concurrents nippons, Nobunari Oda et Daisuke Takahashi. Ce dernier détient d'ailleurs le record de points cette saison, avec un score de 247,93.
Au pays du soleil levant, Lambiel sera accompagné de Peter Grütter, son entraîneur, de Salomé Brunner, sa chorégraphe et de Majda Scharl, sa préparatrice physique. «Nous avons très bien travaillé, reprend le septuple champion de Suisse. Au cours des semaines passées, je n'ai cessé de me rapprocher de ma meilleure forme. J'ai hâte d'être aux Championnats du monde. Je commence à ressentir des fourmis dans le ventre. Et chez moi, c'est le cas avant chaque grande compétition.»

Le programme court se déroulera le mercredi 21 mars. A cette occasion, Stéphane Lambiel patinera pour la première fois sur la musique du film «Blood Diamond». Quant au programme libre, il aura lieu le jeudi 22.

Sarah Meier dans les cinq?

Même si elle ne vise pas le titre, Sarah Meier - qui sera en lice dès le vendredi 23 mars - affiche elle aussi de grandes ambitions. «Je suis en forme, raconte la Zurichoise de 23 ans. Mon but est de faire mieux que ma sixième place des ondiaux de Calgary, il y a un an.»

Sarah Meier part donc au Japon avec le plein de confiance, auréolée de sa médaille d'argent des Européens de Varsovie. Cette saison, elle a également remporté à Moscou sa première compétition du Grand Prix, ainsi que la 3e place de la finale du GP à Saint-Pétersbourg.
Avec Sarah et Stéphane, le spectacle promet d'être grandiose.
