The thing is this newspaper is not a yellow one - quite a solid and respectable. They normally never gossip or something - that means these really very Roman's words.

I definitely read a translation of that interview. It's so unclassy to bad-mouth a former skating partner. And what for? They haven't skated together in years. C'mon Roman, can't you act better than that?

...or they payed him to give such an interview.. you may think I'm exaggerating, but that happens in Spain.., unfortunately! I remember that some years ago, one of the most popular magazines here, HOLA!, payed a young woman to tell about her best friends secrets.. and the girl happened to be the daughter of one of the most popular spanish singers.. It was a scandal!

Everybody was really shocked!!
Of course I don't know whether this kind of procedure is possible in your country..

In my country some people of our jet set usually bribe some magazines to appear on them!!! It' s, how do you say???Unbelievable...despicable.. sth of the kind!!
We loath that kind of behaviour , and we mock them openly!

Anything is possible, and I'm not condoning Roman, but he and Anna have had quite a publicly contentious relationship, and she was the one who gave the first nasty interview (and boy, was it nasty about Roman ) I think obviously he should have left well enough alone and just not talked about her in public, but it's not like he's slamming her without cause.

Okay, I can't believe I just spent time defending Roman Kostomarov. What next? An essay on the virtues of Navka? I better go to sleep.

I agree with Grace, Anna is not a "gift" either, but still... Romaaaan, you could just ignore her or try to say something nicer.. that's not a good tone, guy..

A very good point, Maria! But, Kos/ wanted to answer his ex partner in the same way, so he did it on purpose..
But, I think he would be more careful if he was with the russian national team at the time!!!

Very true!! It depends on the federations to impose some rules on the matter, I guess!

O: K. But most Federations lack discipline because most sportsmen are superstars and untouchble!

You are right, Serena! So right! And most indiscipline cases are not told on the newspapers... .Authorities, turn a blind eye, because the athlethes are very important for their teams!...

I think it happens more often than we think!

I remember, some years ago:lol!: when some portuguese national team football players were caught by the reporters jumping out of the windows of their hotel rooms in the middle of the night to go we don't know where...!
Reporters published the fact and there was a big row betwen the press and the players.. It was soooo funny!!

The portuguese Fed was made to act by the public opinion!!

What happened...???What did the Federation do??
I can almost imagine Roman sneaking out of his bedroom window in the middle of the night..
