Some of these photos aren't of my hometown per se, but of my home province. There isn't really a lot to see right in my town, but they are all fairly close to where I live, and just areas we go for drives and stuff. My hometown looks pretty much the same, it's just these aren't right in the town. I don't really have many monument ones as there aren't many monuments here that I have taken photos of...

Enjoy....

I do enjoy your photos a lot.... :stari:
It's great that we can "know" so many countries and cities.

My aunt was in Russia a long time ago and she has some beautiful photos from there and cards and a huge book about Moscow. I used to watch that over and over when I was a kid, I was fascinated by those red rubin stars, by the square...They are very unique. Maybe I idealize the place, but what can I do..I simply love it :stari: Wow, I can't really picture you there walking....although this is the most natural thing for you to do...hehe...

Paris is wonderful...I love the pictures.
But I agree that La Tour Eiffe is a strange construction. It's majestic and impressive but not really a beautiful arhitecture in the true meaning of the expression. Sad Feel free to argue with me..I sincerelly hope that I don't offend anyone by saying this.
I know it's a cultural symbol and from this perspective I can say it's a great construction that has it's own specific atraction...

Still I prefer the other photos.. Embarassed Embarassed Embarassed and Notre Dame is marvellous, superb :stari:

Oh, I totally agree ! When I walk just in front of Notre-Dame, I am always amazed, I look during a long time the church, and very often, I sit during a few minutes to contemplate this wonderful monument. The interior is very beautiful too. I'm never tired of it... although I live in Paris for 10 years ! The district is very nice, because Notre-Dame is on an island, so the Seine is very near, there are book-sellers on the quays, very lovely ! nice

So I stop here, because I'm able to speak about it during hours ! lol!

I haven't been to Ottawa, but I've been to Toronto in Winter. It is very cold as well. Here on the west coast it isn't too bad. We get some snow and ice, but it isn't super cold, not like in the east.

I'd love to go to Ottawa one day though and skate at the canal!

But sometimes it's so cold it doesn't snow! It's too cold to snow! Although there's always snow on the ground, because it's so cold that the snow that fell before it got too cold to snow doesn't melt until like March. lol!

And as for ice, well, this is what it looked like where I was living after a huge ice storm about eight years ago!

And sometimes, when it is too cold to snow...

I remember it as well, there was ice here in the west even, though not quite as much as out there, but the power was out for awhile and people were skating on the streets.

Our climate is warmer than the east in the winter, but colder in the summer... basically though, we get a lot of rain where I live. Not so much in the north of the province, it is more desertlike there, but I am in the midst of the Fraser Valley, covered in rainforest lol. SO it is always raining.

My tag line would be, "Uh... it's pretty in summer, though!" :kataus:

School being closed was the best part of the ice storm for sure. It was like the first time in 100 years they'd closed the university for weather! And then after a few days they told us if we could get out of Kingston, we had to leave, so I got a random week in Toronto!

(Where there was no ice, but it was definitely too cold to snow. :face: )
