Well, D/Sch generally have very very high TES scores, and from a report on FSU it sounded like Albena and Maxim did not skate quite as clean as they did at Skate America. Maybe Albena and Maxim lost some levels, or their GOE were not quite as good? We'll know all when the protocols come out. Smile

The Goldenskate reporters don't generally like the European style of ice dance, so that she doesn't like/understand the theme doesn't really matter. lol!

However, I do agree with her that their diagonal step sequence is too open. It didn't matter at SA, where they were going to win pretty much no matter what, but now that they're competing against teams closer to them in ability, things like that are going to start mattering some.

(At SA it took me until the end of the sequence to figure out that that was what it was! scratch

) If I were them I'd change it a little bit. But I'm not them, so whatever. Very Happy

And don't worry about the score being lower than at SA. Scores at SA are *always* high. Always. So this score was bound to be a little lower. Add in any mistakes they might have made, and that they were competing against a very strong home team, and... well, their score was lower. You cannot, cannot, cannot really compare scores between competitions. Exclamation
