yes....it's quite sad Irina is retiring, also for the sport, she is a great sportwoman, no. But on the other side, she has had her 'beautiful years' although there wasn't olympic gold for her, and now probably it's enough, it's good if she wants to find another experience. Too because of all the new young talented skater girls, it's fine to make a point behind her skating career and start something new. In our newspaper was said Irina will be the commentator in a TV show, she will do well, I think

I wish all the best to her as well, but now I am confused!

Another story says that her mother denies that she is retiring...I really do wonder which one is true.

All the same, she will excel in anything she does...she has a heart of gold and has left her mark in skating. She won't be forgotten.

I don't understand something actually....today our sport paper said Irina won't retire and the news of yesterday was wrong. They had a quote of Irina who said that if she would retire, she didn't had told her coach about this, and that it isn't true that she wants to stop with competing. Well, I'm happy she will stay

I've found a french article about that. They said that maybe she'll compete at Russian nationals

I really hope she'll stay!

And so good for the competition and sooo interesting!

I think that she is staying for another season...I really hope she does! I don't even watch Ladies' any more because none of my fave skaters are still here... And after watching some of my videos from the Olympics, I don't really like Plushenko any more...STEPHANE IS THE BEST NOW!!! But anyway, Irina is my favorite and then Kostner.
